When Home Hub launched as a competitor to Alexa, Google needed a team to capture and distil their partnership with Sephora in an innovative and approachable way. We jumped on board and decided to ask real customers about their experiences in San Francisco, San Jose and New York.
We are in the middle of an EV revolution and Espin e-bikes needed a compelling campaign with commercials, stills and social-media. Action 8 Films delivered, producing the campaign from soup to nuts. The campaign was a huge success and sales are up!
Stitchfix, didn't have a clear brand identity and needed something memorable for their first ever campaign. They wanted to graduate from a online "tech fashion brand" to one with more high-end credibility. We created an inspiration board of 60's glam, family and memories and their first campaign was born. We took a team to Palm Springs, rented The Parker Hotel and shot on actual Super 8 film to illicit a sense of nostalgia.
Redbull was entering the largest market in the world, China. To do so they put on the first ever Red Bull Music Academy in Beijing which brought successful western producers like Just Blaze together with Chinese musical upstarts to make music and put on a series of concerts. Red Bull needed a team with extensive experience in China to document the process and reached out to us. These short pieces we created are part of a series about musicians, Han Han and Helen and their experience at RBMA. We packed the houses, got lots of press and Redbull China killed it!
When Google partnered with The Lowe's Innovation Lab on the augmented reality, Google Tango Phone, they needed a team able to add context to the unique partnership which also included Microsoft. On shoot day, engineers and execs from all three companies flew to the Google campus in the Bay Area to reveal the ground-breaking device and the rest was history.
When the co-founder of Tesla needed a viral commercial to promote his new electric/natural gas truck company, he called on us! Ole Schell and his team created a "motor-vehicle ballet" on the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah with the turbine powered truck and Ranger helicopter performing highly choreographed dance-like maneuvers. The award winning piece got tons of buzz including: CNBC, Bloomberg TV and dozens of other outlets leading to additional VC funding and being honored as "Best of Year in Automotive Content" by Jalopnik.

They needed a team to create a campaign that captured their company ethos of "Farmer, Miller, Baker" and good stewardship of the land. We jumped onboard shooting in Utah, California and Idaho and sales went up 40 percent!
Richard Branson busted into the US with Virgin Mobile and of course wanted it to be cool. We casted a bunch of friends and peeps that were too cool for school and put on a faux party at Milk Studios in NYC and shot it. It quickly turned into a real party and glorious mayhem ensued, perfect for Virgin's renegade spirit.
Sephora wanted a fresh and authentic way to enter the high-fashion market. The question was how to do that in a credible way? Fresh from making the award-winning documentary, "Picture Me: a model's diary," Ole Schell was hired to create these Sephora mini-docs mirroring the style of his film. The pieces feature American fashion model, Mariel Soehner and Dutch fashion model Josefien Rodermans, who gave behind the scenes looks at the world of modeling and their favorite beauty looks and routines.

Lowe's Innovation Lab is the innovation tech arm of Lowe's Companies. They build things you wouldn't expect them to build with partners you wouldn't expect them to build them with. They create everything from virtual reality showrooms in stores, to autonomous robots and stores in space. It's all very cool but how do you convey that to consumers who simply think of Lowe's as a home improvement store? We came onboard and developed a strategy and series of spots to artfully show the unknown and cutting-edge innovations coming out of the Lowe's Innovation Lab.
Google Capital is Google's VC arm. They needed a strategy to profile some successful companies they invested in: Credit Karma, Zen Desk, Glass Door, Auciton.com, MapR, Zen Payroll and Freshdesk. We developed a plan where the execs of Google had natural conversations with the founders of the companies they invested in and we would document it. We then conducted documentary style interviews and created a series of spots for Google Capital.
